We offer public hands-on Urban Foraging, Seasonal Foraging, Mushroom Hunting, and Bug Hunting workshops from May 1 - November 1, on Mother Nature's schedule. Weekend and weekday workshops are available. We also do private workshops and yard/land evaluations so you know what you can eat right at home.
Workshops are typically 2-hours long, hands-on, and focus on identifying a variety of plants and/or mushrooms. We'll also learn about safety, equipment, laws, ethics, and resources with which to continue your learning. Hikes range from roughly one to three miles at a slow pace on municipal, regional, or state public land within an hour of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Space is limited and workshops disappear from this page when they've filled up. If someone you know has already signed up for a sold-out workshop, email us and we'll figure it out!
Workshops go on rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for a hike and the weather. If there is severe weather we will re-evaluate to prioritize the safety of our students and instructors.
On public land within an hour of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Locations vary and are scouted continuously each year to give us the best chance at finding what we're looking for. The location and further information are emailed to paid attendees prior to the workshop.
